Balance Beads
Does anybody have a recommendation for quantity per tire and brand of balance beads to use? Will be installing new Shinko Tour Master tires in the next week or so. Yeah...I know their no E3...let's call it an experiment.

Re: Balance Beads
2 oz. per tire whatever you use. I've used Dyna Beads, like 'em. Some swear by Air-Soft BBs but the ones I've seen are huge.

Are you talking of the 230 tour master? I installed those tires on my voyager a few years back as a lot of riders from zl-oa had put them on their eliminators. Bottom line was I got less than 5000 miles on the rear and it was worn out. Although the price is right and the performance is pretty good the longevity is very poor. Just too much total weight with the voyager for this tire.

Re: Balance Beads
Agree with Debron, Dyna Beads 2 0z. per unless you put a car tire on. 3 oz. for a car tire on the rear.

Re: Balance Beads
I've been running the Conti Milestones for about 3 years now and really like them. The Milestones had some improvements since I purchased mine with the 2012 Milestone Mileage Plus. When mine finally wear out I will get a set of those. I just looked on the Conti site and see they also have a new MT90B16 74H which is a big improvement in load capacity compared to my 130/90-16 67H. I think I might be upgrading my front to this new model sooner than later. Not that my front doesn't perform well, I just think the MT90 will give even better performance. With this new Milestone tire I believe these will now be comparable or even better than the Dunlop Elite. Whatever the case, it is definitely another tire option for the Voyager. As anther option, the Milestones come in a White Wall too.voyager55 wrote:I'm going to try Continental's next time.
