As far as takin her to rally ,,, that may be a possibility, The owner of the bike lives in south N.J., but his brother lives in the Hartford CT area an the bike is ridden back and forth between. , So. the bike is road worthy..... But ,I have to check it over good, and put some miles on her. The bike has to earn some level of trust before it goes on a road trip. This is the first time , I ever bought a bike
( and Ive bought ALOT) that I did'nt have "hands on" and go get it myself, so we will see, and as always ,I'll report back , good or bad.............tony

I owned an 86 1300. Worst bike I've ever owned for riding around town. The bike was too heavy and just too big to maneuver around comfortably on. But, when I got it out on the interstate? There was nothing like it. Goldwings have all the smoothness and refinement of a car. This thing was like straddling a freight train. You never ran out of throttle.

Enjoy! I saw the bike and actually considered it myself. It just looks too cool to pass up. Definitely a conversation starter at bike nights.

...Let's catch up on the fuel injected 6 cyl. saga...... my previous post , stating.... the bike is on it's way to me ........well ....the shipper(I call em truck drivers)
cancelled on me then, the whole "bidding uship process started all over again. You all know, how this goes.... they go HIGH ,you go LOW , then you sit and wait to see who bids on your load
Well.... I still don't have the bike, but I paid for it, weeks ago !
( some things in life ,must be endured )
anyway .......they say my "new" pick-up date, is thurs,7-3..... delivery on sat 7-5.
that's the day ,we were headed to the rally. cuttin it too close for me !
my brother is stayin at my house while I'm away, and can take delivery ,and inspect the bike for shipping damage, but this is NOT the way I wanted things to go,to say the least..... but what's a guy to do ??????..........tony

......update ..... this train wreck is getting old .....but some good news !
I finally have a carrier ,that I SPOKE to. He is picking up the 1300 friday,
and won.t be able to deliver the bike till after we're already gone to the rally.... but my brother will be here ,to receive the bike and check it over. I now won,t be able to see my purchase till after the rally has ended and we make the trek back home.

That reminds me of my first 1300.
Wife saw it at a local dealers on Wednesday.When I got off work she dragged me over to see it (I wanted to wait until we got back from vacation).Took it for a ride (boy was it heavy) filled out the paper work and waited for the bank.
Picked it up on Friday after work,rode it home and put it in the garage.
Left on a 2 week vacation Saturday morning in the cage, didn't get to even see it for the next 2 weeks .

I just got home from the rally , asheville to toledo. total miles for rally, 1618. on voyager XII. .......to see the new "BEAST" sitting in my garage. the clist add read "excellent" condition, far from it ! but that's O.K......I will begin gushing out the love to her first thing on saturday morning, when I wake up

Hello Bruce, This has been a long process.......The picture that you ,(we) saw,was on the forum ,till seller got my check.then ...when he was paid, he cancelled the c list post,then the pictures go away, due to file sharing.......anyway.... I rode the beast all day today expecting to find out all of the problems ,with a bike I bought sight unseen.... I am WAY more than happy to report that this bike is proving to be a great buy .....runs great ....tracks straight.......sounds awesome ,with those aftermarket pipes(something I never liked) This bike will not be "flipped",,,,,This one stays in my stable ....I think 13 now .
