Parts suppliers?

Post by trikebldr »

Anybody have a favorite NEW (NOS) parts supplier for the ZN1300 Voyager?

I found OEM (Kawasaki) clutch and throttle cables at PartsZilla. About $35/each. Now, lets just see if they really do have them!

Seems that Motion-Pro is the main "maker" of cables now. Anybody used them yet?

BTW, I have a local Kawasaki dealer near me that makes up new cable inner cables for old housings. So, if you can't find a cable for your bike, let me know and I can get his number. It's a real hole-in-the-wall operation on the first floor of a large two-story house. He specializes in restoring/modifying KZ1000's.

.....Well, in fact, the last 3 times I went to the dealer for cables..... they came in when ordered as
Motion Pro.......from our 77'kaw 1000 LTD(clutch cable).......then a 81'550 LTD clutch cable
to the latest was our 00' ZRX 1100 throttle cable..... which I had to go ride home from a long ways from the house when I got the late night distress call..."DAD" the throttle cable broke....what do we do?.....I'll tell ya what I did,was get dressed and rode my Voyager to where the boys were, and then rode the ZRX 1100 home working the throttle manually with my right hand on the throttle cross bar.My son then rode my Voyager home.
....That's O.K. the boys thought that was the coolest thing they had seen.... I was even called a
"THUG" ....for doing that !(I guess that's a good thing nowadays  )....................tony :-D

Riding the ZRX by using your hand on the throttle crossbar, does not seem to me, to make for a fun evening ride. :hmm: :corn:

A lot of OEM parts have dried up in the last 5 years but I have done quite well with the following.

Try these: http://www.ronayers.com

http://www.z1enterprises.com/Home.aspx

http://www.zed-parts.com

http://www.z1300.de

Ok course there is always sourcing used parts from Ebay.
