Post your pic when you are ready, I may also be in the market. Thanks for your efforts!chevyman1 wrote:I have the material and I am working up a prototype to make sure they fit the bike properly.
I should have something workable in a week or two.

Re: mirror extensions
Last Sunday I was given a sneak peak at them but Kevin did say he was going to tweak them a bit more.
I can now see those tweaks and they look great I must say.
Right now it looks like a 1.5" push outward, anything one inch or more would be substantially advantageous!

Re: mirror extensions
Okay I have 8 sets made but I want to take 5 sets to the rally next week.
so I have 3 sets available now.
After the rally I will be making more.
So if you are going to the rally see me there for a set, if not PM me, I will try to get you a set before the rally or put you on the list of people that want a set and get them to you as soon as I can.

PM sent. Really looking forward to mounting these. Love the bike, hate the OEM mirrors! I've got almost everything dialed in, except the mirrors... Cheers!

Re: mirror extensions
I can't see the need for these. My mirrors adjust fine and allow a full view.

Re: mirror extensions
Most of us, including myself can not adjust the mirrors to look straight back, we all get a view of our shoulder.voyager55 wrote:I can't see the need for these. My mirrors adjust fine and allow a full view.

One of the first changes I made to my xii was changing the mirrors. I went a slightly different route than the mirror extenders, but I like the new ones I see better than the old extenders I used to see.
Nice work chevyman See you in about a week!

Re: mirror extensions
I can SEEEEEEE!!! For the first time since I bought my Voyager, five years ago, I can actually see behind me, in the mirrors! For the first time, the mirrors are more than just ornamental features on my bike... Love the new extenders! Installation was a breeze, and I can now see traffic approaching behind me -- first time in f-i-v-e years! Worth every penny: finely crafted, expertly designed, beautifully executed.
Thank you, chevyman1!
In answer to the question of why all of the fuss: I could see somewhat, riding solo, but with my wife on board, all I could see were her elbows, and the far sides of the road -- I could not see anything behind me, unless I leaned out. It varies with the height of your head while seated, different body configurations, but many folks just could not see much behind them, at all. The extenders push the mirrors out far enough that we can now see directly behind us -- the mirrors actually function. Cheers!

Re: mirror extensions
chevyman1, I got my extensions yesterday, and stopped what I was doing for work and mounted them right away. Anyone who has ever had an issue with not getting enough view behind you via the mirrors should know, this fixes that completely. Looks great on the bike. Well made. Easy to install.
Thank you!!!!! That's always been a problem. Even with the blind spot inserts on the mirrors, it was still difficult to see what was behind me. Not any more!

Re: mirror extensions
chevyman1,
Great to meet you today! Was awesome weather to get out there. can see why you did not go into Cabela's with me and my family. I walked out with a new 10-person tent (Well.... it was on sale [like everything is on sale there... ])...
Extenders are mounted and I'm very well pleased with the new visibility behind me from those mirrosr. No longer need to literally "look over my shoulders!!"
Excellent work, they fit tight and adjustments do not disturb anything.
Highly recommended!
Thanks again!
