Ekap stainless items

Post by triton28 »

I received my stainless fairing/bag accent trims, mirror covers and vent trims from Ekap today and I have to say that the quality of fit and finish is flawless.
Thank you Ekap for making these items available once again.
Regards,

I know, I know, Mike I never expected to become so busy with motorcycle repair as I have become. Even to the point where I had to spend a week getting the shop machines moved to get more room. I need one of you retired guys to help out here. :gig:

My day job has been crazy busy and taking up quite a bit of my time up to 7pm at nights. I was just ready to finish the die, when orders for sockets came in and that tied up the mill and lathe this week. Today I am off to a late start to wrap up on a very messed up Harley that may take until tomorrow night to complete. Second owner, DIY add on;s , one so called mechanic, then it comes to me.
So I am hoping that after that, I get some time to finish the two die sets for the floorboards and the fender. I had run a two week sale of the bag/cowl, vent and mirror trim right before Christmas , buy all three and save 50.00 . Well it turned out better than expected and ran out of stock. Putting me further behind.
So please bear with me, ( a busy man is a tired man ) may become my new phrase.
I am spread thinner than a coin placed on a railroad track.
And thank you Dave for your post, Gee that must have been the slowest truck up to Canada. It has been weeks since I shipped to you.
Well time to get to work,
A busy man is a happy man ?????????????????????
Not sure about that phrase anymore :gig:

Yes it does take at least 2, sometimes 3 weeks to get items to me. Just another aspect of cross border shipping. I have learned to live with it, and the high cost of freight.

Ekap AKA Ekap1200, is a member of the AVA (look up about 5 posts). He custom makes "Bling" for the the biking community, among many other things.

I would suggest a search for Ekap1200 posts to get a good idea what he makes and sells, then contact him about what you might be interested in.

anyone know where to get these?

drtechnology, the Ekap they're talking about is ekap1200 (3rd posting in this thread), he is a machinist who makes custom accessories for the Voyager XII / 1200's. I can vouch that his work is impeccable and show quality. Shoot him a PM or eMail (click on his user name) and ask, he may have what you're looking for!
As for the rails (chrome bars on saddle bags) yes some folks put lights on them while others did not. They were original after market/optional equipment available from Kawasaki. Every once in a while someone will list NOS on ebay, but typically it demands a high dollar.

Thanks, when I get ready to add more chrome, will hit him up - I have seen many ppl talk good things about him I should have realized was him sooner lmao

Far as the rails for saddlebags, do u happen to have a part no I can search or such or just keep looking on like eBay maybe offer up if I get lucky or CL (surprisingly still lots of listings there) for saddlebag rails or guards? lol Thanks for the help. The bike is being totally redone and will look factory new hopefully in a month or 2 and I don't wanna chance going down and scratching all the side storage up or worse, breaking it. Not cheap to find new ones lol Plus then the custom paint

If you do find a set of chrome rails, I'll trade you a left saddlebag lid that's already drilled and bolted for the rail for one that's not.

Saddlebag Rails part numbers <-- click this link. It should take you to a PDF showing all the parts needed to install the rails (PN - K53002-005)
That page was found in the Tech Tips area (<--link) of the AVA Home Page

Stupid question but maybe someone on here knows of this website/company

http://www.speedsupplies.com/

Went there because I found the rails for sale, went to add to cart and says "factory parts ordering is closed"

Any idea what they mean? Anyone shop here before are they closed for covid or closed permanently or?

If no one knows of this site or company thanks anyways

Also, add to last post, I am an idiot. I live just miles from the Count! Obviously needs no introduction (Count's Kustoms, Las Vegas) - so I e-mailed him a pic of the rails, and asked him what his team would charge to make and install them.

It May take a while to get a response,. my friend said she e-mail him was 2 months before got back, very busy shop, but he is one of the best and even if it takes a while, I will see what his price is and if not too much of a raping might just let a pro work on it. I know many of u on here work on these too but I don't think I live close to anyone on here :(
