Heel and toe shifter

Post by scottabe »

Karma was damn good to me, my 92 was ready for retirement and I found the exact same bike with 70000 less miles on it, will be riding a Voyager for many years to come. One problem, has the floorboards with a normal shift lever and it is a major pain to upshift, have to lift my whole leg. Can't seem to find a heel and toe lever, wondering if one from a Gold Wing will fit. And does someone have Carl Leo's email, can't seem to find it.

I might have a Markland heel toe shifter. If I remember correctly it's missing one of the rubber pads. Contact me after Christmas if interested.

Mine also was really hard to upshift, especially into 2nd. Put the right oil in it, fresh. Lots of info on here about that.

I got rid of the floorboards because I couldn't get my boots between the heel and toe parts of the heel/toe shifter. I got tired of riding all pigeon-toed. And with the engine oil right, I don't need to smash on the heel part anyway.

I'd recommend searching "difficulty shifting into second gear" or something like that and swapping back to pegs from your old bike.

All 3 of my Kawi's respond really well to a couple ounces of Marvel Mystery Oil added to the crankcase. It really changes the character of the shifting for the better. This is while using Rotella oils. Maybe once between oil changes I'll add another dash.

If your first offer of refusal does not want the floorboards and shifter, I do.
