Clutch friction plate replacement

Post by shifterkart26 »

Has anyone here done a clutch friction plate (only) replacement on a 94. If so, is it a straight forward process like most bikes?

I had a rattle in my '99 early this year, which I incorrectly thought may have been loose tangs on my discs. :hmm: To check them out,I removed them, which checked out to be in specification. So,yes it is very straight forward with no special tools needed, other than a torque wrench.
At that time,it had 79,000 miles on the original discs, and they were well within specs.
The rattle turned out to be a loose bolt which holds the alternator drive coupling on.
