When ordering my parts. I did get the filter to pump line new. The other 2, they were out. And was told could not get them anymore?
If so what size and type of line is used now? Need new line from the pump to carb. Then tank to pump.
If anyone knows where they can be ordered (Parts #) please let me know. AS will also be ordering a few more items. And new fuel pump is not going to be here for a few more days.

tnpete;
ekap1200, (and possibly others), has posted in the past one very important point not to be overlooked. That is if one puts a thick non OEM clamp, say for instance a worm gear clamp, on the hose at the fuel tank spigot DO NOT have the worm/tightening mechanism on the bottom as the swing arm WILL hit it and bend the spigot. This could lead to a partial blockage or worse yet a fractured spigot.
While repairable who needs the aggravation.

Re: Gas line replacement?
Thanks that is a great point for sure. And I'm sure that would have been me doing it that way.
Man I think my luck is run out on this bike. About ready to finish it up. Carbs went to leaking this evening. And its running perfect now.
So tomorrow pull the carb's back off. Check and see what's causing them to leak. Then put them back on again. I should be a pro at this if I keep on. Everything is new that can be replaced.

Re: Gas line replacement?
With respect to the flooding, iF you used carb kits which had new non OEM float needles and needle hangers, Carl Leo has determined that the non OEM hangers will sometimes fetch up on the body of the float chamber, so use the OEM hangers which were in the carbs unless of course someone used the hangers from an aftermarket kit already/before your ownership.
Did you polish the float needle seats as well as cleaning them? You are referencing the Service Manual for setting the float height right?
At least the engine is running well now, just have to stop the leaking. Yes you will be a pro at this soon,
Dave

Re: Gas line replacement?
I also had floats hang up. I didn't keep track of what was aftermarket, and don't remember now. But on these carbs, pay extra attention to float clearance when putting the bowls back on.triton28 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 11:27 amWith respect to the flooding, iF you used carb kits which had new non OEM float needles and needle hangers, Carl Leo has determined that the non OEM hangers will sometimes fetch up on the body of the float chamber, so use the OEM hangers which were in the carbs unless of course someone used the hangers from an aftermarket kit already/before your ownership.

Re: Gas line replacement?
I did swap out the hangers. That is when #4 started leaking. Did not leak before I went back into them and swapped those out.
Yes I polished the seats, Used toothpaste. There sparking now, not white but sure shine like new Brass.
Set float height at 17MM with digital caliper, using the tang sticking out the bottom. Carb's tiled where the float just rest on the needle. Not putting pressure on the needle. Same as I have for the last 40 years.
After thinking it through, I was a bone head. Took all day putting them back together. Did not want to forget a step in the process. But I did for sure forget 2 steps. That should not be left out.
(1) did not recheck the float height after swapping out the hangers.
(2) may have left a spot of paste in the seat.. I know with me almost bet I did . Sprayed out I thought all 4 seats and even used compressed air blowing into fuel line fitting. Thus out through the seats, after spraying. But feel I may have skipped #4.
As you can tell, I will toss out my good along with the bad stuff. Feel it may keep someone from doing the same BONE HEAD move.
Also air screws 2 1/4 turns out. That's where it wants to run the best.
Most of all, Thanks guys for taking the time to help out.
