Shifter again

Post by GrandpaDenny »

Driving home this evening, felt something hit my heel and drag the ground, though the side stand had fallen. Nope, the shifter again. Is this a common problem with these bikes, a weakness in the linkage? This is twice in three months! Less than 500 miles! Ok, so I wear size 15 steel toes, maybe that's it? Perhaps I just don't know my own strength? I doubt that's it, this isn't my first bike, I've had big feet as long as I can remember, when I was younger I was stronger, and I've never broken a shift linkage on any other bike.

... I have floor boards, they have 2 supports and it caught mine a few times and
cradled it 'til I stopped... do some searches.. methinks it's a know problem..

I tightened mine best I could and double zip tied it on, so it can't come off again...
Best to Ya! As I have a heel/toe shifter, I did NOT want to lose it!!!!!
