Found my trunk light was not working. But it was also unplugged. So I plugged it back in, works perfect. But found out a few days later, it was not shutting off. I got to thinking why it was unplugged to start with? So set my phone to record and laid it in the trunk. Sure enough, light was on when trunk was shut. Press down on the switch and it goes out. That is when I see the issue.
Someone had turned it counter clockwise. Thus the Molded part on the lid, could not press down the switch. Took the screw out that holds the switch in. Nothing I could see, but then seen an old mark. Mounted the switch but did not tighten down the screw. Turned the switch 1/4 turn clock wise. Shut the lid and could hear the switch click.
Free fix because someone had taken the switch off I guess? Not sure why they would have turned the switch. But its working now and was free. Best of both worlds there.
With it in this spot switch no works.
