I had one. Didn’t like it. Many many years ago I updated it to the zumo 660. Much better but it’s outdated now also. Will probably replace it next year. I wouldn’t of brought maps for such an old gps .

Re: Zumo 550 by Garmin - anyone know about these or have/have had one?
I used it on my way here from Utah and it worked surprisingly well, with old maps from like 2015, last time was updated. I took it off the cradle the battery was still good as it lasted almost 60 min on battery power. Again, very surprising. I went to the official website and saw it has a live traffic feature and auto routes you around traffic delays, again super cool (Google maps only shows delays, you must manually route around them that I know.
Overall I think its a cool unit and looks like was just installed - not faded or anything. Screen super bright and he has a visor made for it over it so less sun reflection. I get it is old and is not the best but for basic gps when I am not familiar with the area, or for live traffic info near me when I am out, figure its worth keeping. He paid over $1,500 for it originally he said. Not a cheap unit by no means. Plus the cradle is hard-wired into battery already so it charges as I ride.
My only issue as stated is the dang traffic cord, I got the cord model # off garmin's official website on the zump 550 official page and yet there seems to be no place on the unit or cradle to plug that wide plug end into..... UGH! Did u use traffic when u had urs before upgrading and how was the antenna cord connected?

At least here in Philadelphia, Google Maps will notify me of traffic jams and suggest reroutes. I think this has only started happening fairly recently, so it's apparently something fairly new. It's slicker than snot on a doorknob when it works.
