Kickstand extension pad
Good day everyone. Looks like spring might be on it's way. Anyone use a kickstand extension pad and your opinion.
Thanks

Re: Kickstand extension pad
I've found that if the ground's that soft, the XII doesn't like being there anyway. So far, I've gotten away with finding a rock.

.... I have a kickstand pad that I store in the left saddle bag, top pocket
so I can reach it when needed, toss it down and toe it around....

Re: Kickstand extension pad
I use a steel square face plate for an electrical outlet box. Find them at DIY stores, in the electrical outlet box supplies. Get one with screw holes in the corners, attach a Zip Tie to one of the screw holes, and use it as a handle to put it down/pick it up with. Then stow it in the left top compartment on the saddlebag, as cranky suggests.
Been doing this for a number of years, now. Works well on hot tar parking lots, as well as grass. Cheers!

I also use an electrical outlet blank plate. I have an elastic cord (I don't remember where it came from, an old jacket maybe?) that I tied one end to the plate (through one of the screw holes) and the other is attached to the latch on the left saddlebag's top compartment. No bending over, just level the bike and pull the plate up with the cord. I also got the idea from Cranky, IIRC.

Re: Kickstand extension pad
I was lucky enough to obtain both an orange (AVA) and neon green (ROK) kickstand puck. I added a length of thin elastic cord about 3' long with a loop at one end. I store it in the saddle bag lid, pull it out drop and toe it around as previously mentioned. The loop end I place on the left grip, when I'm ready to stand the bike up it pulls up easy for me. Wrap it up and drop in the lid compartment and go!!!! The neon elastic cord keeps me from riding off without the kickstand puck!

Re: Kickstand extension pad
The reason I'm interested in the extension pad is because I find that the bike leans over a bit to much for my comfort when the rear suspension is at 36 psi . I usually don't play to much with the rear pressure. My short inseam doesn't make it always easy to square up my 1200. Maybe if I had a leaner butt, my legs would seem longer. Any thoughts? Don't be shy.

Re: Kickstand extension pad
I can't remember if it was on here (previous version) or another Voyager XII forum, but someone drilled a small hole in the pad of the stand and screwed a small metal disk to it for the very purpose of making it more upright. Be careful, I've had the wind blow my bike over and that was on the side stand leaning up-hill. It was a strong wind, but the caution comes with merit, the straighter (more upright the bike) it is the easier it will be to go over. So do some tests before you do anything permanent.
