1) Radio: Is there a control somewhere on it that allows me to change volume on the left or right speaker? If so, I haven't found it yet. My right speaker doesn't seem to be working but I don't know if it's turned down or just kaput for other reasons.
2) Is there a "Voyager tribe" preferred source for carb rebuild kits? I've decided to stop messing around and just pull/rebuild. It's gushing too much gas overboard when starting up. Wishing it would stop doesn't seem to be working too much. I finally got carb #4 to drain but no change to the overflowing gas. So, I'm about to print out whatever I need to know about yanking/installing the carbs.

Re: Two questions: 1) Radio 2) Carb rebuild kits
I was thinking that might be the case with the speakers. Mine does not have rear speakers anyway (right now). Ok, so my right-side speaker is kaput. That's waaaaaaay down the list of priorities but something to attend to whenever I have reason to pull the fairing. I've got it playing AM and FM and the cassette but there's still a lot of buttons that don't seem to do anything. Regardless.... there's time to mess with them.
Thanks for that info.

Re: Two questions: 1) Radio 2) Carb rebuild kits
Speaking for myself, yes: "none". Just buy the parts you need, by MaKa part number. The "kits" usually include a bunch of crap that isn't all that useful and often skip the parts you really need.Chris Cochran wrote: ↑Sat Jun 25, 2022 7:02 pmIs there a "Voyager tribe" preferred source for carb rebuild kits?
I think you have another thread about pissing gas, pointing to a need for new float-bowl needles. Those should actually be in the kits. My bike hasn't needed them, so I haven't bought any for the XII. Dunno -- other than you surely want to replace these on carbs leaking like yours have been.
You'll also want to replace the float bowl gaskets. IIRC, I bought aftermarket ones that were cheap and worked. Sometimes it's hard to get new o-rings to stay lined up and not get squished and ruined when you torque down the float bowls. Don't use gasket seal to hold them in place, or at least don't use much. The floats have very little clearance in the carbs, and even a little sealant spooging into the float bowl can hang up a float. (As me how I know.)
If any jets look nasty or scratched up, you can replace them. But I generally just clean them using a piece of brass-wound guitar string and carb cleaner.
My advice is to look first and then just get the parts you need.
