discontinued parts

Post by triton28 »

Just tried to order the fuel line from the tank to the filter, 92059-1724 and it is "No Longer Available". The brass OD rotor for the change drum, 21007-1192 is on "Backorder-No ETA" so I would say it is gone as well.
Time to check one's inventory and order early before all is NLA.

Hello from New Jersey USA.... No fuel line available come's as no surprise . I may be able to help out..
I just ordered 3 foot of grey fuel line 12-0052 from Denis Kirk. After reading your post I thought it best to find some for the shop , should the need arise . I will let you know what I think of it when it arrives. And while you now had me worried about losing a hose due to age and use, I began searching for the molded hose from the filter to pump. Found ( 1 ) at partzilla.com P/N 92059-1725 $ 20.06 with the shipping.
As for your overdrive brass part,,, well can it be made in a machine shop ? could not find one in stock...

Hello Gene;
Yes that would be good of you to post an evaluation of that fuel line.
I am doing a transmission R&R next week so I'll have a close look at that brass rotor, I'm sure it could be fabbed if necessary. I just wanted one for my inventory so I am not between a rock and a hard spot right now.
Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave, The hose I have been concerned with was the molded hose from the filter to pump. They shown 1 in stock, so I took it.... I had , when I first looked at the hoses year's ago,,thought that they where silicon in makeup . But on the hose is printed ( NBR ) . Which searched out to TYGON .. The OEM hose , I believe was " bumped " out to 0.320 ID for the end that goes on the filter. What I ordered from Denis Kirk was 1/4 ID , I use 1/4/-5/16 aftermarket fuel filters, I leave the inlet at .250 and to my OEM hose , its trimed to second size of 0.320 .So having that OEM hose purchase , I should be good for another 100K. Down here in Jersey we may have seen about 4 inch's of snow so we have been riding most of the year . Until the salt is on the road, and your just to darn cold to ride.

Thanks Gene for the insight.
I looked up Tygon and they certainly seem to know their chemical compositions.
Now I understand why a lot of my small 2 stroke chainsaws/mowers/trimmers etc. had that yellow fuel line.
Not all plastic tubing is created equal, so to speak.
I especially liked the thin wall thickness of the F-4040 tubing which may prove beneficial for those tight area of the tank drain and carb vents.
Regards,
Dave

Hello from NJ, Dave , I received my fuel line today. looks great and is the same OD as OEM . Brand name is MOTION PRO . Comes with the standard , user warning , but states it should not be used without a shut off valve at the tank.... Guess they have never seen a Voyager. I am going to use it on my bike, and I have the molded line coming in tomorrow . No matter what the disclaimer states, It must be better than the 20 year old OEM hose... I does say it has been tested with currant gasoline additives . I did my homework and every review I read was a 5-star rating. I think you would be pleased with this hose as a replacement.

And since this post is named discontinued parts, I thought I would post a pic of 10 finished stem, spanner sockets. I have been back to making these up . email me for more info and price.

Try Honda of South Georgia (229 396-4050) Tifton Georgia. Might have some luck. Only trouble is getting it up here to Canada.
