Can someone tell me exactly where the carb vent lines go? I have a 2002 Voyager, and it looks like at one time they attached some where, as the ends seem stretched like they did go to a fitting. (transparent hoses). They are suppose to be open to the atmosphere for venting, correct. Id sure like a picture and a detailed message and where they should go.
Also, how the heck are you suppose to get the springy type of clamps on the secondary airbox and intake of the carbs. I did a carb clean and the previous owner of his mechanic must of thrown them away. I ordered new onces, and need some advice on how to install them.
Carb vent line help, and spring clamps on intake to carbs.

The drain lines? They go down, forward of the swing arm.electriccruiser wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 6:48 pmCan someone tell me exactly where the carb vent lines go?
The plastic Tee's that these hook to often are rotten with holes.
The only thing I've found that works is to get all pissed off and just keep trying. They're a bitch. Pretty much everything about removing the carbs is.electriccruiser wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 6:48 pmAlso, how the heck are you suppose to get the springy type of clamps on the secondary airbox and intake of the carbs.
I've gotten some use out of tools like a very small screwdriver to stick between the spring and the hose, to walk the spring around at least most of the way. I've also used a dentist pick sort of tool.

Yes those 6mm, (1/4"), clear, maybe yellow from age, lines go over the top of the lower airbox and just head downward behind it. They are as you surmised open to the atmosphere. There is a groove moulded into the top of the lower airbox where the hoses travel along.
Don't you just love those boot springs! When you have each spring hooked together and next to the lower airbox the trick is to get a finger behind the blind side of the spring and rollit/push more like, up the boot toward the carb all while using the same finger, or a small hooked heater hose tool/dental pick, on your other hand to accomplish the same roll up/push along the carb boot toward the carb, of the side of the spring you can see and all at the same time. It gets easier the more one does it.

For connecting those spring clamps, get yourself one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/Moody-51-1850-Sp ... 8653&psc=1
I've also used a telecom spudger. There's a 90 degree wire at one end. That tool wire tends to bend right when you think you're done connecting the spring ends. Here's what that tool looks like:
https://www.amazon.com/Yellow-Telecom-P ... B00YFSI8YS
Harbor freight sells a pick set with 90 degree and other interesting bends that might work.
https://www.harborfreight.com/mini-pick ... 63697.html
They also sell other pick sets that may work as well as the first item I listed.
