I have a damaged right muffler rear tailpipe, as in the rear-most short straight part broke off for the previous owner. He gave me a used replacement muffler and I'm in the mood to finally install the thing. I've ordered the PRICEY two exhaust gaskets and will tackle the swap when they come in.
Any tips/tricks I should be aware of for this project? It 'looks' rather straight forward, just a couple clamps and a couple bolts, which usually means it will end up being a gut wrenching, two-beer sweat and cursing fest? lol
I welcome any and all suggestions to simplify the muffler swap while I await the parts. I will not be touching the header pipes, just the right muffler and its cross-over pipe to the left muffler.
Thanks

Re: Tips on muffler removal?
loosen all the bolts/connections on the LH muffler while replacing the RH one and then tighten everything back up. You won't encounter any strange twists, it's a straightforward change out.

Re: Tips on muffler removal?
Dumb clarification, I don't have to also pull off the left muffler to replace the right one, just loosen the left's bolts & clamps?

Re: Tips on muffler removal?
Probably. Kinda depends on what got goofed up in whatever caused the damage.
Even all loosened up, some mounts can get ornery. YMMV.
