on-board computer
This may sound like a crazy question to most of you on this site with WAY more experience than me, but here goes. Do our XII 1200's have an onboard computer that can be re-flashed to improve performance ?? I'm thinking probably not, since they are carb'd. Just thinking of the numerous benefits of the Ivan's re-flash option on other bikes. Are ours too old school ?? Just curious. Thanks.

Re: on-board computer
The short answer: no.
Computer reflashing normally adjusts the fuel injectors & timing. The vxii timing is the only thing controlled by a "computer". Kawasaki calls it "the ignitor". 1986-87 models had one that provided too much advance during startup. This resulted in broken starter chains. To the best of my knowledge, they didn't provide any additional advance at higher rpms, so no benefit in switching to the chain breaker unit.
