Hi all. Bike is running really well. question is in 3rd gear at 2200 rpm ( 50 kmh or 30 mph) there is a cyclic scratchy noise. Just wondering if anyone else has heard it...I suspect it is harmonics and the fact that the bike is super quiet but I can't help thinking its a chain noise . It goes away at 60 kmh. it only happens in third and at that rpm. It pulses around 2-3 times a second. I am thinking of pulling the tensioner out and re and re...
any thoughts? thanks

Re: scracthy noise
Hi,buzzcut,if the sound does not happen at the same RPM in 1,2,4,and 5th,I doubt very much if it is a problem with the timing chain tensioner.
It could very well be harmonics between engine and tire noise coming together at those speeds.
