Windshield bag

Post by pasam »

Hi,
Has anyone came up with a windshield bag for a 2003 Voyager. If so , how did you fasten it? Is there experience with drilling the windshield? Looking for a handy place for cell phone, sun shades, and etc.
Thanks, PASAM

I carried too much, and i have power outlet attached to the right(always locked) storage. I believe if you have CB you loose one of the storage compartments, but don't have any actual experience there. I carry sunglasses and a small (well actually not as it is now broken-don't know why, not dropped) camera in a camera case i attached to the left compartment with velcro. In the compartment i put things needing more protection, but can get to easily still. Getting ratty now after 3 years, but will just get a new one (or one from Goodwill).
Enjoy,
Ken

Thanks Voyager55. I guess I didn't realize what those 2 compartments were for.

Again Thanks, PASAM

There is never enough storage on a bike. We've been thinking of getting a windshield bag, as well, since a tank bag is not very practical (used one on our previous bike -- loved it!). Need to actually get out there and measure the space available, to see what size/type of bag would fit. Cheers!

AFAIK, the factory CB module doesn't affect fairing left storage hutch for the cassette, mounts inside the fairing area. If one installs a compact aftermarket CB, some put the unit inside that pocket. I've already got a Midland CB-1, plan to do that, will have to cut out the bottom of the compartment for clearance. May also put an MP3 module next to it. There is a circuit diagram available to interface a standard generic CB to the Clarion radio, for similar functionality (i.e. mute when CB call comes in) except passenger can't change CB channels.

Bob, go to http://www.tinlin.net/motorcycle/parts.html

Click on menu item CB/Radio/Intercom. It will jump to the that section on the web page. There, you will find the link to the circuit diagram.

If your still looking for a windshield bag J and P has one but they call it a dash pouch. It sits on top of the gauge cluster by the windscreen. Here is the link.

Nelson-Rigg CL-1025 Sport Touring Tank/Tail Bag - Black

I used this for a 4500 mile trip this summer. I use the straps, but also use this as a carry bag when not on the bike. I got my wife the magnetic mount one (otherwise identical) for her use. I carry my ipad and other such in it.

Merry Christmas to all,

A good size magnetic tank bag fits great on the trunk luggage rack.
