Here are a couple of shots I took while fixing my antifreeze leak.

Many of you have a couple of drips of the green stuff when it gets cold out. Here is a shot of mine after sitting for about a week.

A close up of the right tube going into the engine. The left side was leaking also.

Of course to get at it...we'll, it makes for an interesting project.

Not too bad looking for being 109 (thousand that is).

See how smashed the old o-ring on the left is compared to the new one.

Finally got the bike back together yesterday (new o-rings, fork rebuild with Progressives, new air scoop and new headlight lens). Went for a 1 1/2 hour ride and everything seems fine. With luck, I won't have to touch it for another 100k.

Thought I would hijack this thread as it already has pictures.
I replaced the O'rings after they started to leak last Thanksgiving (2014). This week I started to get drips under the front and found the pipe of the drivers side cylinder where it goes into the casting had split. :dm:
Talked to Carl and he is sending one, thinks i started the split when installing 5 months ago, and just now worked its way out past the O'ring. New rings and a good used pipe on their way tomorrow per Carl. Said he doesn't think he will make Estes (just too far to travel these days). If I had the funds for such an expenditure, i would love to send him tickets for airfare (but i don't) in appreciation for all his help. Maybe i will get to meet him next year (Mike wouldn't tell me where, even though he knows). :hmm:
Well, at least i am getting good at taking the front apart. :cry2:
Later,
Ken

When I replaced my O-rings,I used a soap John Deere sells to put on the O-rings in the bottom of wet cylinder sleeves. We have been very satisfied with the soap for many years, and it made for a very easy installation of the water manifold on my VXII.
