how do you use a motorcyle jack to raise the voyager XII

Put the 97 Voyager in the shop and was looking under it, to see where to place the jack, I di not come up with a place to put the jack. The jack I have is an J&S jack.
So, how do the rest of you use a motorcycle jack to raise the Voyager XII?
It looks like my choices are on the exhaust or the engine? Am I missing some thing here?

Using a motorcycle jack on the Voy requires an adapter that clears the exhaust. There was a fellow that was selling them some time back but he no longer does. It might be hard to find one but you might try the classified section. Good luck............Gator Mike

Basically your just putting a spacer on the rail so that you are on the frame instead of the muffler.
I have seen a couple made out of small peices of wood or maybe a piece of steel.
I hope someone can send you pics of a fancy one.

I bought the adapter kit from Bill O. I don't know if he is still making them or not but it works great. You might try to pm him.

hello from new jersey, I used a 2*4 with 2*4 spacers glued to it and then after jacking the front end up cut two more spacers out of a 4*4 to support it. here are some pics on tinypic. unders 1200 voyager. the link is http://tinypic.com/a/vn75/3 hope this helps. I had the bike up for a week on this set up. just be careful when using a torque wrench on the back wheel if your going that far with the teardown, not to push forward on the center stand.. I had made a center stand lock clamp out of two peices of flat bar 1/4 * 1.5 with a bolt thru the two to clamp the center stand from releasing.

The wide part goes towards the front of the bike and the narrow part goes under the centerstand? I don't have one, just the picture.

I can figure out the front, should be a pretty easy measurement. The narrow or back does not look so easy. I am not sure if there is a couple of different notches or what?

I sure would like to buy one of those things if someone wants to make them. That ought to be a poll or something. WHO WANTS A LIFT ADAPTER, or something like that.

As Richard stated, he is the creator of the adapters. I have a set and posted awhile back about them to others. I'm glad Richard posted so I can again claim to only be a client of this great item. Well worth the cost.

Do these work on any motorcycle jack? mine is a J&S jack.
You said you had a few left, could I get one of those, if it will work on any M/C jack. I plan on starting to tear mine down as soon as possible to rebuild the forks.
