Along with adding the LED light bar, I have also added the turn signal conversion kit. The turn signal conversion kits turn you signals into running lights when the turn signal is not in use. it was a 20 dollar investment that worked out very nicely. It add quite a bit of light to the rear end when running especially early morning and dusk. It took all of 30 minutes to install on both sides. it uses a specially colored bulb to turn the color of the amber lens red. Private message me if you want pictures. It comes with easy to follow instructions as well. THe web site is http://www.electricalconnection.com

It doesn't contain that extra "s" any longer, so the address linked in the original post is now correct.

Mike, which kit did you install? (Sorry to resurrect an old thread!) I assume from the price that it was the bulb kit, not the LED?

From the site (http://www.electricalconnection.com/oth ... sk-int.htm), is the one you added "p/n 01312 -- Turn Signal Conversion Kit (red running lights) for housings with AMBER lens turn signals?"

Sorry I have been out of pocket.. I used the P/N 01312, You might want to call them the upgraded Led might be a better solution. The one I used is only evident during dawn or dusk. An Led may be more visible during the day.

I have added a pair of LED marker lights under the tail pack. I bought 2 L brackets or corner brackets in the hardware section of the Big Box Retailer. These brackets are predrilled with the lights mounting directly to them with a 8x1/2 and a star nut. The marker lights are wired into the left and right lights. I used the "line tap" style of connector. I wired the positive side to the running lights ( the red wire) and the negative to the blinker wire (blue wire) When running they are on and when I hit the blinkers the blink is opposite of the regular blinker. I mounted the L bracket using the philips head screw that holds the lens in place. When you wire up a regular light bulb like this there are no concerns. Being that it is LED the LED require you have a correct positive and negative. By getting the negative hot during the blinking process I don't think there well be an issue but I could be wrong. After all it is a diode and it prevents current from flowing the opposite direction and it emits a light. If I can get some time I well post up a picture or two. The LED are very bright.

I just did this mod with the #1312, super easy and the best $20.00 I've spent. Now I'm converting the rear fender to working lights, the paint on the lens stripped off real well. Thanks for all the tips, guys !
