I like the look, but I need my trunk, LOL. You'll make the cops jealous.

Gary,
Looks awesome bro!
You too Chris!

I always wondered how these babies would look without the trunk up there!
Looks cool!

Chris, I like how you finished the edge of your flat plate, I need to do that. When my wife and I go two-up we have the trunk on. When i ride it to work by myself, it's kinda neat to go trunkless.

Thanks for any comments.....good or bad!

Garry, what is that piece at the back of the pass seat. Is that part of the pass seat or an ad-on stand alone. Could you take some closer pictures of that and post it.
Thanks, Fritz

Garry, I can't take credit for it. Mike in IL is who did it. I do have the plate though. I could take some closeup pics if you want. Right now, the plate has a small trunk mounted to it. It was probably going to go on my scooter, but I might be able to be talked out of the plate. I know Mike would enjoy it, if it was for sure going to get used. I have the round light too if you prefer the way it looks.

The pass. seat is what caught my attention, kinda looks like a nascar spoiler...looks like a nice job with the trunk area though Garry. I think Fritz's has better lines with his seat.

The Ole' Voyager actually handles quite different without the trunk being on the bike. I had two different plates I would put back there when the trunk was off. Each made the bike look different. I always wanted to put a nice Vetter trunk back there, painted to match the Voyager. Never found one that wasn't broke or cracked, or missing Lot's of pieces. When I had the trunk on, I always seemed to have it full of stuff. I mean, really full. I liked the Voyager with, and with out the trunk. The Voyager is a Transformer in disguise!! HA.....

Here is a closer picture, the box that the tail lights are mounted to is mounted to the bottom plate. The bottom plate is bolted to the same holes that hold the trunk on. There is a space in that box to store the wires that go to the passenger control for the radio. The passenger seat is high and does look like a spoiler! :gig: I assumed it was the stock seat but im not sure.

I like the design but I would put the lights farther back in case you want to strap something on the plate.

This was the previous version, the lights were farther back. To me, It looked like a VCR on the back :gig: I could have mounted a rack on top of it. I only have the trunk off when I ride to work and all I need is room for my lunch. The side bags have plenty of room for that. I have been playing with different designs. I'm a machinist and have all the fun tools to modify things!

Wow, that looks great. I am planning on doing the same. I was planning to use a polished stainless plate, but I might like the black better. Hottumz, where did you get the brake lights?

Checked your fuel mileage after removal?
I was wanting to do something trucnkless. However I want a edge that I can mount LED lights on. The top is to remain flat. I am going to try something out of plywood as my metal shop is lacking the tooling required for this project. :hmm:

I like the look of the Voyager without the trunk. Very 'Harley like' look to it.

Nice work! TS

I like it. I am thinking about a small pelican case with the lights mounted in the back of the case. It will really look like a Kawasaki police bike then.

They have many different sizes to meet whatever you need. Get one sized for the rack on the Voyager and mount some lights in the side of the case or mount an LED bar on the rack itself.

For you metal guys you probably could use a utility box for electrical stuff that you could modify to work on the bike.

I think it works great without the trunk. I'm still off a little on the tail light. Maybe I'd go down to the lower place.

Well, I decided to take the plunge. Since I still want to be able to add the trunk back on easily and quickly I ordered a new wiring harness to modify for the brake light and I ordered a very nice billet LED taillight this morning. Now all I have to do is fabricate a plate this weekend. Full speed ahead!
