Got a tech tip for Voyager 12's from your personal experiences, or one complete with pictures and instructions, here's where to post it. You can also ask about tips or procedures here.
This may seem like a silly question - but how do I remove the seat to get to the battery? I assume the battery is under the seat. I want to put my battery tender on the bike.
Second: I am having a tough time starting it. I am not sure how to work the choke on this bike. Is full choke up or down? It popped a couple of times but just won't start. I have plenty of battery.
Surprise, battery not under the seat. Battery is under the faux fuel tank. But if you want to take the seat off you must slide the passenger seat as far forward as possible and take the two bolts off at the back that are holding seat down, lift off rear seat and then there are two bolts at the back of drivers seat to come off, slide seat up and both seats are off. Fuel tank has two bolts, one on each side towards the back bottom corner on the side and one that is spring loaded on the bottom side of the front on both sides. Undo do them (spring loaded one stays on the faus tank cover) , gently lift off as the cruise control wires will be still attached but can have the connector split apart and wala, tank is off and their is the battery and the air filter. Just don't tell anybody that you actually thought that the gas tank was under the gas tank cover and all will be fine. Tank is actually under the driver seat.
Full choke is down toward the driver.

Wow -that was way easier than removing the seat! I'm used to my old Goldwings and Ventures! I still can't get it started - I think I flooded it so I'll let it sit over night. I don't smell any gas but that's how it acts. Has fired a couple of times but that's it. Might have to get a warm day and tackle new plugs! Thanks! I took pictures and will be posting them soon.
Some times the choke cable can be sticky. right hand side (you can do this with out removing anything) as you pull back on the choke on the end of the carbs is a slip joint push on this to the left and you will open the choke the harder you push the further it will open. You should only have to hold this for just a min or so. And if all is well it should idle you need a new cable or maybe just lube.

Immediate help appreciated!!
Man I remember asking almost that exact same question 2 years ago when I got here. Don't worry friend. stick around here and within a couple of years you will know more about this bike than you ever thought you would!
