Re: What type of oil do you use?
Hi Gary
Thanks for running the poll. We had to vote that we use car dino but were eager to see the results because were considering on changing to synthetic to attempt to quiet down the transmission a little. The price difference between dino and synthetic has really gotten close which is also a reason to change.
We like the polls in general and this particular poll where we see what really works by the number of miles people get on their bike is particularly helpful. Keep up the good work; we know it is a tough job keeping up a website as diverse as the AVA. Thanks for all you do!

Re: What type of oil do you use?
Thanks Mike and Marcia! As a personal note, I use car synthetic in my Voyager. It had 13,000 when I got it (used). I put the next 6,000 using a premium dino, but from then on I used the full synthetic (car), and won't go back to Dino. It does smooth shifting for sure as far as I'm concerned. I also keep fresh (every two years) hydraulic (brake fluid DOT4 Synthetic) in all my brakes and clutch reservoirs. I never had clutch slippage with the synthetics.

Re: What type of oil do you use?
I'm looking forward to seeing these results.
I change my oil annually (always less than 10K) with Mobil 1MX4T synthetic m/c oil. At around $8 per quart, it is overkill. I figure it is just added insurance that the mechanical side of things stay running.
On the CB250 site, the majority run Mobil 1 10w/30 synthetic for autos and change at 5K intervals. It is the non energy-conserving type to prevent clutch slippage. This is because one gent had 103K miles on his when he sold it. The engine had never been opened up and was still running strong when he sold it to his Puerto Rican neighbors and the bike took a boat to the island.
