Reverse for Voyager
There's a lot of outfits out there adopting a reverse for big bikes. My Voyager with the trike kit now make it twice as heavy and hard as hell to push backwards...I could sure use one...anyone know of as good system?

Re: Reverse for Voyager
I know the new Voyager 1700's that have been triked by California Sidecar company have reverse, soooo I will talk to one of the people that has a new 2011 Voyager 1700 Trike with reverse and find out what is involved. I'm sure something can be worked to allow the bike to run reverse in first gear with power off the starter button, just need to look at the set up and see what would be a reliable effective plan. Having once ridden Bob Jones 1300 for a short distance, I do know of the weight of the beast without it being triked and would imagine it to be difficult to manuever without assistance.

Re: Reverse for Voyager
Lonnie,
Check the Yahoo group site.
I recall someone posted pictures of how they used an extra battery and starter moter in the saddlebag to drive a sprocket for a reverse gear.

Re: Reverse for Voyager
Go over to the "1300Voyager · Kawasaki 1300 Voyagers" at yahoo. Look for Message #15193 put up Sun Apr 24, 2011 2:13 pm. Poster is "Franconia LLC".
There are 2 pictures of the setup posted on the "Files" section.Hi Guys,
Just wanted to say thanks again for all your help with my coolant problem. Still
working on it.
Want to give you a overview what I did for my reverse. I have build a gear
(teeth are facing to the inside) which I have attached to the rear brake disc.
Then I have build a bracket which holds a CCT starter from a Toyota. I use a
trigger switch from the Intercom what I don't use to engage the starter. Works
like a champ. Remember that I have added a Car battery in one of my saddle bags
to have enough juice. A 20-30farad capacitor should be also fine I think. I was
not easy to figure all this out but it was worth the effort.
In my setup it is powerful enough to go back with me (225pounds) sitting on the
bike.
I hope I could help with this info.
Happy Easter
Tom
