I put them in my XII when I replaced both tires last summer. Love them. Tires are perfectly balanced and smooth riding without any weights! Some folks here use plastic BB's but I would think the BB's, being soft plastic, would wear quickly get "out of shape." Dyna beads are reportedly reusable at least once.

Got them in the Goldwing Bridgestone 704/709 combination we have. The tires were already balanced but I put 2 oz in each tire for the fun of it. Some are only able to find the 20 ounce bags and have to find a way to measure for themselves (helpful hint, one ounce is about a heaping tablespoon if you could stack the beads into a heaping tablespoon).

We had to get them in through a 90 degree valve stem, that's fun (helpful hint, do it a little at a time and use a device that vibrates like an engraver or a cell phone against the tube).

We only have a couple hundred miles on them but the combination of new tires, dynabeads and a new fork brace and we are ready to compete in a motorcycle rodeo. We hope for more miles because of the beads and less cupping but the Bridgestones generally get less milage than the Dunlop E3 (which was our former tires and we replaced at 11K only because the bike was in for a fork leak anyway and the E3s will get noisy in the corners).

Some will recycle the dynabeads by vacuuming them out through a nylon stocking (ask you wife).

Jakewilson.com has them in 1oz and 2oz bags in a starter kit with a bottle and tube, like Mike said, vibrating the valve stem helps big time, I used a electric hand sander.

I am trying them in the rear tire on my Voyager (Commander II). A couple thousand miles so far this spring and I have not noticed anything but smooth riding. The real test will be how the tires wear since the dynabeads will keep the tire balanced as it wears.

I found this video, helps to see how to do it easily. I have on order a tube with 90 degree for a new Michelin Comm II for my wife's 97 Kawa Vulcan 800 (VN800a).
I will let you know how it goes.

Careful with those 90 degree valve stems. They should either be the type that have a nut that screws them into the rim to keep them from bending when spinning or should have something to hold them stationary. The Goldwing does it by having a plastic piece that holds the stem stationary on the rim.

The problem is that when the wheel is spinning the 90 degree stems that are otherwise unsupported they will bend at high speed and let air out of the wheel. We had that happen to one of the Sunshine State Voyagers when we were riding up to Charleston SC for the Southeast Regional Rally in 2008.

My 1700 does have the OEM 90 degree stem.

My tire guy dumped the beads in the tire before popping them up on the bead. That looked tricky though. His very expensive tire machine with all the hydraulic arms helped a lot though.

I change my tires with good ole fashion tire irons, I put the beads though the valve, I would hate having to chase all those little critters across the shop floor. :oh: :dm: A hand held sander or some other type of vibrating device on the side of the valve stem is the trick.

Beads are in, took a short ride after taking off a bunch of weight in the rear and so far no vibration. Waiting for weather to clear for a long test... :hmm: Finally got to test the beads on a long run and to tell you the truth, I don't like them...

Tired, but the Michelin Comm II is on my wife's Vn800a. Biggest issue was getting that 90 degree stem in of the new tube (i also replaced the protection strip from the spokes). The very stiff sidewalls, only a 140 narrow tire and my big hands that wouldn't do the octopus thing made it very tough. Finally I did the worst thing I could, I asked my wife to help. 5 min later it was in. Then with her help, we got the tire set within 15min (both newbies, have only done bicycles before).
I thanked her, then set up to put in the dyna beads. Using the above method, it went easy and smooth. Just tapping the bottle loaded the tube, and the air nozzle on low pressure did the rest (8-10? reloads put in 2oz).
I then slowly put in about 38psi and the tire popped. I thought it had seated, but then I heard air leaking out around the tire stem. Oh no, I somehow popped the tube. Ok, leave it off and take it in tomorrow. Went ahead and pressurized it to 40psi and the leaking stopped. Oh, could that have been air pockets around the tube escaping :bat: ? I sure hope so, cause I went ahead and mounted it on the bike.
Funny thing, the shop last December said I would need new rear shoes, so I bought some EBC's to replace it with the tire. Something must be funny with the linkage, cause there is very little wear on the old versus the new shoes. So I left them on and now have a backup set. I wonder if the arm is mounted on the cam shaft wrong???
We will see tomorrow how the beads and the tire rides.
Later.

Update - held 40psi for the 2days before we went for a ride. I checked it over visually also and rode around the block. No issues or bounce (i had removed the 3 weights that were attacked to the spokes). My wife rode it and no problems (only got over 45 for a short 60mph run between exits on a freeway). I guess I will need to pull it off at some point and figure out the brake adjustment issue (next to new wear and the adjuster is most of the way adjusted). I know a good shop to talk to if no one else has an idea (but they are about 45min away). I don't trust the shop that broke my right saddlebag last year and then denied anything had happened (North Valley Honda-Kawasaki on Cave Creek Rd in North Phoenix). They did offer to give one to me for cost at the time (about $800). Still need to get the one that a Voyager family member sent me painted, but I think an all day seat is on the list first. Planning a 3 week trip up the California coast, visit family near Portland, over to Lewiston, ID, then back to Phoenix. Should be fun. Oh yah, got up to 90 while we rode. Summer is coming. :hot:

A couple more thoughts on dyna beads. After a new tire is installed might not be the best time to put the beads in if they used any lube. I would ride about 100 freeway miles to get it all dried up. Otherwise the beads may stick to some lube and make the tire bounce.

If you have any slime or similar product that forget about the beads.
