Jim, see, you get my point...Man, all you guys waiting, worrying and not sleeping, I'm just SOOOOO glad it was Alka Seltzers and not "kool-Aid", I couldn't live with THAT on my conscience!
OK, this is what went down...figuratively of course. Before, when I arrive to work on my 40 mile ride, I get the XII backed in, on the center stand and by the time I get my gloves and hat off, I step around to the Starboard side, there's already 2-3 drops of oil on the ground! Well, today I arrive blah blah blah, no oil on the ground, I wipe the wires coming out of the pick up coil area, yes, wet with oil...not much, normally it was a drip hanging there, waiting for some buddies so they could drop together, but today, just damp with oil!
OK, so not perfect, but a far cry from what it has been. Now tomorrow, after I get up, I'll pull the cover again and see how much oil is behind it, after running it for a good 80 miles?
The other thing I was think'n...I know I know, dangerous, but, this engine had only 2453 miles on it before the original owner "low sided" it, which means...I mean I'm assuming, he had it serviced at the Stealership during break in!?
Now wouldn't a mechanic notice oil oozing out from under that engine cover?
Or how about the owner!?
I tell you what, when I was having Portland Motorcycle do the first service check ups on my '89 GSXR 1100, I would have noticed oil oozing out from somewhere and raised holy heck about it!
I really think it's unlikely that seal got that "roll" in it from the accident...but then anything's possible...right?
Just wondering...
OK, so to recap, people, people, please STOP worrying about my oil leak, get some sleep and thanks for the support!
