Replacing broken kickstand

Walked out to my 86 voyager, from store, straighten out front wheel to mount bike, and kickstand snapped off, and of course, down goes my bike.
Appears it snapped off at the base of where the bolt used to be. As well, it appears the mount is welded on, as I'm hoping my picture shows. Going through repair manual got me nothing to go on, so I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what I need to do?

Looks like I'll have to wire the leads together, and figure out where I can mount an aftermarket kickstand?

Finally got picture to post.
Any Kawasaki replacement kickstand I've found is the actual kickstand, ready to be mounted onto the bolt, of which mine snapped.
Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Know any welders, Have a welder take a look at it.

I'm hoping to find a precision welder that will do this.

If I'm not successful, does anyone know of a company that sells clamp on kickstands that will hold the weight? Local companies have replacement kickstands for much lighter bikes, but nothing heavy duty.

Try to get me more clearer pics, I have a parts bike that I may be able to cut that section off of, just need to know what and were it is broken. The kickstand itself is bent from it's wreck, but the mount and frame seems to be undamaged. Feel free to E-Mail me if needed.
Gearheadjcm@hotmail.com put kickstand in subject so I see it's you. Any good auto body shop should be able to do the welding.

I don't know of any clamp on kickstand for this heavy of a bike and I think I would be really leary of one. Depending on how it broke I would think a professional welder could fix about anything you have. If you could get someone with one on an old frame (ebay, this forum etc) to cut out the kickstand assy and send it to you, I would think a welder could "wash" off your old weld and weld the new assy.

Thanks for the suggestions. Hopefully a welder can fix me up, welding on a replacement bolt. If not, I'll try the other options.

Specialist welder welded the snapped off bolt back on. Had to use the original because of the collar that the original bolt was designed with.

Thank you for sharing. A PO snapped off the 1st Stage Kick Stand shaft, so in order to use the Center Stand, I have to kick the 1st Stage down, and into place, while stepping back, holding the bike steady... I have my wife hold the bike, while I step back, get down on my knees and push the 1st Stage down, by hand. Then I step on the 2nd Stage lever, and up she goes, nice and easy (attempting to lift it by the 2nd Stage alone, is barely do-able, even with an assistant!). All mine needs is a steel rod welded onto the 1st Stage piece. I was unsure where to inquire about the work. Glad to hear this type of thing can be hired out easily, and where I can go. Cheers!

Glad to hear your good news. As with all repairs , don't trust it for a while and keep an eye on it. Then if all looks good and no hairline cracks are showing , put some enamal paint on it and call it a day. Gene Kap.

Mine is broken also but I get off the bike and simply reach under with my right foot till I feel the 1st stage, then push it down, pull the bike slightly to the rear and then use the 2nd stage. Guess I'll get around to welding on a rod one day but until then this works great.........Gator Mike
