Goig trunkless...need lights.
I had swapped the stock seat out for an aftermarket seat that I had gotten with the bike. Turns out the aftermarket seat sucked, but I liked the bike without the trunk on it. Now I find myself fixated on a project: Going Trunkless. I'm building a backrest/luggage rack to replace the trunk, and want to include some good, bright tail light/brake lights and want to make it so I can switch back to the trunk when needed for traveling further than my daily commute to work.
What I'm tying to find is a parts source that can provide the wiring jack I need so that I can plug the new lights into the existing connection. I also am looking for some good aftermarket lights. Any suggestions?

i picked up some 4 pin connectors from Radio Shack then some inline splices. Auto Zone sells Trailer wire kits so you can keep the color matched on the connectors.

Look for the thread "1999 Voyager XII trunkless." There are some pictures posted there with some links to other pictures. I think that you will like how the bike handles without the trunk.

Install the rear fender light would be the first step. Nice to have even when the trunk is in place. There are many many rear light choices out there from bright and expensive LEDs to chinese knockoffs, to salvage yard rear lights. If you can imagine it, you can build it.

I bought this for my bike. I was going to cut the lens of the rear fender and fix it in somehow. Instead, I got a rear fender taillight from an '86 and will install it soon. The Admore light will now go on my CB250.

After looking at youtube, I went to admor's site & they have an even larger version available. Looks like nice quality stuff. http://admorelighting.com/store/index.p ... duct_id=56

Re: Goig trunkless...need lights.
I got off my duff and finally mounted the AdMore light bar on my CB250. See the posting about it in the "other brands" forum. It even has a video of the lights being used right after sunset with the bike sitting in the garage.
AdMore does have several products that could be easily adapted to a trunkless Voyager.

The previous owner had already done that so I've been riding without the trunk exclusively for a couple of weeks now. I do like it...
