Brake,Oil and fuel light ??
Hi ..
Does anyone know why my Brake, Oil and Fuel lights all light up at once..
it has been happening for the past couple days when I am braking..
it doesnt happen everytime I brake, but more of a harder brake..
as a side note, and minor rant..
I tried to search but no luck, and I really do not like the search engine here.. because Brake, oil, fuel, light are too common and it leaves them out, leaving me no words to search.. seems silly to me..but anyway..
Thanks for any help...

Re: Brake,Oil and fuel light ??
I have never heard of that , but I would put a rubber band on the front brk lever to keep the brake on and then start wiggling the wires to try and duplicate the condition. That's all I got , sorry....

disconect the oil pressure switch and see if the problem goes away. i have seen this happen if the switch is damaged or shorted out.......

I would have to agree with you, searching for something is hit and miss, and when you "hit" you often get hundreds of irrelevant posts. Unfortunately, the search function is part of the forum software, over which we have no control. I'm a member of three other forums that use the same forum software (phpBB) and searching there is the same. . .Winddancer wrote:as a side note, and minor rant..

I , Of course, bow to Carl's experience and I took a look at the Circuit diagram..
It seems a little odd that the oil light uses a blue/red wire as does the brake switches and lights..
Has it always done this since you had it or has it just started?

??????????? Well Chuck, its been over two weeks. We all want to know what you found. I know from past battery low conditions that the batt light will come on when braking , but the oil lamp never came on at the same time. Keep us posted.

Re: Brake,Oil and fuel light ??
Sorry,
Been out on a road trip and just got back last night..
Thank you Carl for the info..
It did still happen occasionally on the trip,
I will go out now and try to disconnect the wire and see if it still happens..

Re: Brake,Oil and fuel light ??
By disconecting the wire, the lights did go away..
but it also caused the lights to totaly go away, as in,
when you turn the key on the fuel, brake, oil light no longer light..
not sure if I like this...

Re: Brake,Oil and fuel light ??
It sounds like you left the switch disconnected. I think Carl meant for you to try this to verify if the switch is shorted or damaged. Probably have to install a new switch and in the mean time hook the old one back up to regain your lost lights.
