chrome caliper covers

Post by feenixx613 »

Just wondering if chrome caliper covers from a gl 1000 or gl 1200 or disk covers would fit our voyager 1200s? has anyone here tried them? any comments would be appreciated I really like the look of them. Thanks Rob.

Very little mods, the center hole needed to be enlarged just a tick and a little trimming for the calipers, I just use hand tools (a drill and a cutoff wheel on a Dremel tool) was kind of a bear lining everything up to slide the axle thru, a helper would be nice to have around but I have done it 3 times now by myself, once for a tire change and once for a fender change. The ring of fire lights will be hard to find but just watch E-Bay. This was a part of a total restore project on my 88. You can find them for a XII but you will pay for them too. Carl Leo may still have a set and someone else here had some too but I can't think of who it was right now, it will come too me in the middle of the night and wake me up. lol

The lights are actually separate from the covers, you could add them anytime after you install the covers while they are on the bike, I did mine all at one time but wouldn't be that hard to add later.
