As I remember speedo also will make radio volume go up and down depending on your speed faster you go loader the volume and opp.

The cruise is dependent on the speedo cable, if the cable is broke the cruise won't work.
But if the cruise is broke/malfunctioning the speedo will not be affected.

Kind of the same but I just wanted to clarify to avoid any confusion, I guess I caused more by mistake. Sorry if I did!

Thanks for the extra fuse tip on the radio, found one blew but alas the radio still dosent work.

since I had the wheel off I checked the cable, speedo works with a drill attached to the cable and the drive has some ratteling inside it so the hunt is on for a new drive for the front wheel.

slowly but surely I will get this thing fixed like I want it

Give Carl Leo a call and talk to him about your speedo drive unit. He is the Master of these Voyagers and also still rebuild certain parts for them, drive unit being one of them. I know because I got one from him a few months ago. Rebuilt unit works perfect and I trust it to be perfect.

Carl's info used to be in a sticky at the top of many forums. Maybe Ron could put that information back as this request for his contact info comes up many times during the year.

Carl's contact info was removed before I became webmaster. It is my understanding this was because since moving to Florida he is officially now retired, no longer works on XII's but does still have a couple of storage sheds of parts for sale. . .

You can also contact Pete, his handle here is suzib6sw, he is the radio guru, I promise you he will get your radio problems figured out, he also can do some upgrades to it, add a I-pod jack, rebuild you tape player and change the display color to match your bike, make it default to the time instead of the radio station you are on. He is a great guy.
