clutch slave piston problems
If you do a big cleanup on your clutch master & slave cylinders, and you think about removing the slave piston to clean inside the cylinder, DON'T. It is a real chore to get the fluid seal/piston combo back in there. I'm working with Carl and shaved-down popsicle sticks & I haven't got it back in there yet. was wondering what you did to solve this dilemma 
Similar situations I've had in the past with these types of assemblies I cut the sides out of a 2 litre pop jug, oiled it up , then with the use of a hose clamp, made a sorta-like ring compressor to hold the seal just right, then insert it into the bore. what did you do .........tony

Took me awhile to remember. The cylinder has a taper at the open end, I coat the bore with brake fluid (using clean hands and clean fluid). Next with the rubber seal installed on the piston, I coat the piston with brake fluid. With the cylinder laying flat with the bore facing up, sit the piston on the cylinder, with the rubber seal facing down into the cylinder.
With the rubber seal sitting on the taper, take one hand or finger and apply light pressure on the piston. With the other hand use a clean small flat screw driver, gently start pushing in the seal into the tapered part of the bore. Just work your way around the piston. Once you get the seal into the bore, apply more pressure on the piston. The piston should now go down into the bore and the bottom of the cylinder.
Real important is to not put any nicks or cuts into the seal, if you do you get to buy another seal.
The screw driver I use is the small one that tool men give away for free.
Clean make sure everything is clean, always stop and check to make sure your hands, work area and tools are clean.

should not have to hone it unless it is pitted, Then I would get new one. just clean and polish it really good and use good lube.
