Re: AIR NO MORE
Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I started with 15 Wt., but I hated it, found it too stiff. I went back to using Dexron ATF, ~8 Wt. I still like the ATF's reaction, and stiffness. I also love its price, less than half of the cost of "fork oil". YMMV. Cheers!

Re: AIR NO MORE
..... Yes Sgt. Slag, Very true , The bottles of fork oil you see on the parts counter were $7 each, and that was "middle of the road" price wise. There was some less and some that went as high as $15 each. The HONDA brand is red in color , just like ATF,..... Heck for all we know, they're laughing all the way to the bank charging $7 for that bottle, and it IS just ATF. ..........thanx.....tony

Re: AIR NO MORE
.....Yesterday I mentioned that I was heading out to the garage to find out why my speedo quit working. I was kinda surprized that it did quit working, because just a year ago I serviced the drive unit and cable.I realize that the cable was probably the original, and is now 11 years old. I put a small jack under the bike and raised the front wheel off the floor a bit.
I shined a light, and stuck a eye ball into the hole and gave the tire a spin to verify that the drive unit was working properly....all good.. I spun the cable with my fingers and watched the speedo needle.... nothin...so I took the headlight out to remove the cable.
After the cable was out I gave a little tug to the ends, and the bottom end came off into my hand.
I tried to spin the remaining end of the cable and it was bound up tight, and would not budge.
I gripped the cable in the bench vise, and pulled (forced)the remaining cable out to check it out. It's problem was down at the very bottom, right where it failed. All I can think of that caused this, was everytime I start the heaters, during the winter ,everything in the garage gets covered with condensation, till the room gets up to temp. It collected at the very bottom of the cable, then FROZE, then on that first ride of the season I find myself heading back to the parts dept. for a new cable I know . next winter I'll just stay out of the garage and let everything just sit till spring.

Re: AIR NO MORE
Maybe just disconnect the cable from the wheel (and leave it disconnected all winter) so that it can drain?? Wouldn't want to keep you out of the garage!

Re: AIR NO MORE
Tony, Tony, Tony,..…...every once in a while you should remove the lower connection on you speed-o and drain the rain and condensation that collects in it! Heck I thought you knew that or I would have mentioned, OH Wait, the only reason I knew that was mine busted and someone else told me. Sorry had I thought about it I would have mentioned it. I guess I owe you a cable. I got a broken one here if you want!
