Carl has been patiently helping me through my starter chain tensioner replacement project that I started two weekends ago. Last week I pm'd him about sending my carbs out to him for a rebuild, mailed them off and then took my wife on vacation for her birthday. When I returned home I see that I have a voice mail and when playing it back I am completely shocked to hear Carl's wife Cheryl tell me that Carl had just had heart surgery and that my carb set had been received and to call her about carbs. Well the first thing that went through my mind was who cares about my carb set. Well even though he had just had surgery Carl still cared enough to have his wife call me to talk about it. Well all I care about is his full recovery so he can keep doing the things in life that he enjoys.
So Carl, if you get a chance to read this post I just want you to know that your full recovery is the only thing of importance. I know that a guy like yourself will try to push things anyway and knowing myself I would probably do the same. But like it or not, following your doctors orders to the T will most likely be best. I am glad to hear that your surgery went well and we can talk carbs down the road when you are back to 100%.
Carl by now you've read and realized that you truly are not only a very important resource but also a very loved, cared for/about, brother, friend and dare I say savior for so many.
You have helped me as well as an unknown number of folks. I share in everyone's concerns and wish you both a fast and full recovery. God Bless and Get Well!

We're glad to hear Carl is recovering and doing well. Seeing this thread was certainly a shocker, but we are thankful everything is going better than expected. We'll keep you in our prayers, Carl! Take care of that ticker!
Dear heavenly Father, we lift our brother Carl up to You and pray for healing and a speedy recovery. Protect him and his family during this time of recovery. May Your special blessings be upon Carl in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Is it just me, or are others wondering just how many miles Carl had on himself before this tune-up was required? It's obvious he was very disciplined about changing his oil and other fluids on a regular basis....
Glad they've taken the jumper cables out, Carl. Rest well, recover wholly.

That's good to hear, now that he has had HIS carbs rebuilt he should be good for another 300k

Been out of the country (Philippines) and internet kinda spotty. Just got back and 1st chance to check the forum.
Hallelujah for God's grace and adding my prayers for a speedy recovery.
You don't think it was helping me with my U-joint/driveline issue that contributed to this....
Naahhh, that would have been an easy one for Carl. Thank you for all your help, and I am holding Carl to his promise that I will be able to still stop by when my wanderings bring me to the east coast.
I also want to send prayers for Cheryl and family for God sustaining them through this time of trials. Blessings upon you and yours.

I just spoke with Carl briefly and he asked if I would share this with everyone. He is currently under quite a bit of medication which limits his abilities (which is the reason he didn't send this himself). Between the medications making him tired and doctor appointments here and there his days are pretty much consumed. Carl wants everyone to know that he Thanks Everybody for the support he's received as well as the prayers. He said he didn't realize just how many friends he had, to which I replied we're not just friends we're a family!
Again from Carl Leo - Thank you for all your support and prayers, they are very much appreciated!
