Re: a 91 thats close to me?
Without seeing/hearing it in person and going by looks I would say it's worth the $1500, no doubt. The mileage is low enough (these bikes are known to get over 300,000 miles) it has some extra chrome and lights including driving lights and if the fellow still has the trunk then you are set to take a passenger for a long weekend and have enough room for packing. Trust me a woman will fill the trunk and bags up quick so stake claim to one saddle bag before the packing begins!
If it's close, check it out!
Oh only the 86's had the igniter issues so that isn't a worry with this one.

Re: a 91 thats close to me?
I just got a txt from him saying he can't show it till next weekend? I wonder if he is a member here? He said he wanted to clean it up before showing? Then why would you post it till your ready to show it? I'm thinking it won't start and there may be something wrong?

Re: a 91 thats close to me?
Did the seller give you his name? It does have AVA stickers on the rear speakers so one of the owners belonged to the AVA at some time. It also has an after-market exhaust system. Cobra?? If it were close to me, I'd buy it for the chrome and driving lights, put them on my bike, then re-sell the '91!

Re: a 91 thats close to me?
For the sake of it I would text the owner and ask that I get first chance once he's home and available. If it runs smooth I would be hard pressed to pass it up, but I already own one so I know they're worth it. Plus the ride is AMAZING!

Re: a 91 thats close to me?
The cruise only works in OD/5th Gear! You also need to turn it on, using the "On" button, on the faux tank, then use the thumb "Set" switch. Be aware that the cruise should engage immediately; if it doesn't, then try v-e-r-y... s-l-o-w-l-y... letting go of the throttle, to see if it will engage. If it does, then the pulley needs to be adjusted: too much slack. Easy fix.
The oil sight glass is inaccurate -- you cannot go by it. Ask the seller how much oil he puts in it: 3 quarts, 22 ounces is the correct answer. Also, verify he is aware that it has two oil drain plugs, not one! If you do not pull both drain plugs, and you add 3 qts. 22 oz. of oil, you will over-fill it!
The coolant over-flow bottle is behind the left silver cover -- pull them out straight, and carefully, as the top sprue/stud pin is easy to break off.
Ask if the shocks are OEM air-assisted. If so, when was the shock absorber oil last changed? Old oil will give poor performance. If the shocks have been upgraded, what was used? Progressive 412 shocks are good, airless, and perform well. Also, ask if the fork springs are OEM, or Progressive, or ??? When was the shock oil last replaced? Not a deal-breaker, but old oil gives poor performance.
Ask if the windshield is original, or did he cut it down? It looks too low. Not terrible, but if it is too low for you, then you are looking at a ~$200 replacement.
Good luck! Cheers!

Re: a 91 thats close to me?
From what I see I wouldn't worry about to much if it runs and drives.
Even without the trunk and that beautiful 90-91 color there at least $1500.00 worth of parts there with all the extras

Re: a 91 thats close to me?
I like how he used the trunk rack after taking the trunk off. He was able to use the rear speakers. Looks better than the recycled rack off a Honda Trail 90 that I used when I decided to go bagger.

To many people using craigslist will simply stop answering you when they sell what they wanted to .To lazy to even pull the ad.
