2000 Kaw voyager
Hey all Joe here new today. I am going to purchase a 2000 Kawasaki voyager xii tomorrow and would like some input. The bike has new tires front and back last week, new rear brake pads, fresh clutch and brake fluid plus oil and filter, also has Corbin custom seat and backrest, all done at dealership. Dealer checked it all out and said was good to go. Have not seen bike yet but lots of pictures and talking with owner. Bike is in like new condition and he is wanting $4500 what do you all think any input?

Re: 2000 Kaw voyager
Any idea what the mileage is? That's maybe a little steep but if the milage is below 35,000mi then it seems reasonable.

Re: 2000 Kaw voyager
Hi Joe, very well kept from what the pictures show... Is it correct that he has knocked 500.00 off the asking price ? personally if it ran as well as it looks I would drive away at 4500.00 . With just under 55k looking at the pics this owner has had to keep up on things and spend good money on upkeep and repairs. And lots of wax... I love it when an owner keeps a bike in pristine condition and rides the heck out of it also ..... just my thoughts. Gene

Re: 2000 Kaw voyager
Yes he said if I was serious he would let me have it for the $4500 we talked about. I'm going tomorrow out to see and test drive and I am taking a trailer with me. If it looks like it does in the pic's and it runs and drives straight I think I'll get it. Anything I should look at before I push the button (Deal)ekap1200 wrote:Hi Joe, very well kept from what the pictures show... Re: 2000 Kaw voyager
Price is Way to much IMO. KBB is only $3100 . Be careful paying extra for accessories, That's what he's doing.
I had a Corbin seat, it was a ROCK, sold it asap. A lot of Voyager owners hate Corbin seats. Your call
Check the color of all the fluids. Be sure it's new.
Some sellers always say fresh fluids & oil, but you need to check it yourself to be sure.
If he did maintenance himself, ask him how he did it. You'll be able to tell if he knows what he was doing, or he's full of it. Dealer did maint, get the receipts
Most people are honest, but you need to protect yourself.

Re: 2000 Kaw voyager
Mine is a 99 very similar to that bike it appears, My wife and I both love the corbin seat I love the drivers back rest but my wife says it makes things to cramped for her in the back, its funny but other than the color its pretty close to my bike right down to missing the same cap on the handle bar adjusting screw, I have 4 bikes and the voyager is hands down my wifes favorite to be on.

Re: 2000 Kaw voyager
Thanks for the info. I will be looking it over very well, most I have seen in the $3500 range need things done like tires and that. I might offer $4K unless it is super nice.voyager55 wrote:Price is Way to much IMO. KBB is only $3100 . Be careful paying extra for accessories, That's what he's doing.

Re: 2000 Kaw voyager
I live due east of there about 15-20 minutes. I will be working on my '03 and my wife's 97 Vulcan getting ready for a trip next week. Good luck. If you want to do coffee later in the day let me know (got to work in the "cool" of the morning). Or stop by if you want:voyager55 wrote:Price is Way to much IMO. KBB is only $3100 . Re: 2000 Kaw voyager
Custom seats, like Corbin's, are tailor made to the height, weight, and inseam of a particular person...
It won't fit you, unless you have the same measurements as the person it was made for!
If the seat has custom upholstery, that is a different matter altogether. Best of luck with the bike. Cheers!

That's ok. Another time. Can't get away to Asheville (Work in Colorado up to the 4th), but will take roundabout trip back, not sure where or how long.oreo4772 wrote:Thanks for the invite but not seeing bike till around 3 or so this afternoon. Re: 2000 Kaw voyager
I paid $4.000 for my 2000 about 6 years ago. had only 32,000 miles on it. Guess I got a good deal.
