2014 Post-rally tech tip #1
Take the door off your left hand fairing pocket and remove the foam that used to keep the cassette tapes from rattling around before it gets too old and turns to goo in the heat and goos up everything that touches it like the AVA kickstand pad, or the pen you got from your bank/church/work/wife or your wallet.

Thanks for the tip. Does any one have a suggestion for replacing the weatherproofing on the fairing pocket door? Mine is completely weathered and cracked.Chris near Kansas City wrote:Take the door off your left hand fairing pocket and remove the foam that used to keep the cassette tapes from rattling around before it gets too old and turns to goo in the heat and goos up everything that touches it like the AVA kickstand pad, or the pen you got from your bank/church/work/wife or your wallet.

You might look at the foam weatherproofing tape used to seal the space between a camper shell and a pickup truck bed. It would have to be cut to fit but most have a adhesive backing to them or---- something along those lines. I work in the auto collision industry and have seen several products like that. I will keep my eyes open for a better solution for you. Good luck, Robert Beers
