Hello all...I'm new :-) New rider at the age of 55, new Kawasaki Voyager owner (1996 XII), and new American Voyager Association member.
I was wondering if anyone else has had this electrical problem and what may have worked for you in fixing the problem. I read the very helpful artical on this in the tech corner but...I can't seem to find the dog gone electrical "plug" being talked about. I found and cleaned every connection I came across but nothing seems to fix the problem yet. No horn, no headlight, no brake lights, no temp, tach or fuel gauges. I DO have radio, turn signals and speedometer though. The problem started as an intermittent one but is now constant. I love my Voyager...first bike that I have ridden in over 25 years but...I still love it! Thanks in advance for anyone who may care to share on this problem :-)

Re: Intermittent Electrical Problem...
I believe the plug you are looking for is the one behind the left side lower fairing panel. I think it is either a 10 or 12 pin connector, rectangular in shape. Look at the first two wires on the right side of the plug and see if they are burnt in any way. If so, then this is probably where your problem lies.

Re: Intermittent Electrical Problem...
The plug you are looking for is under the lower Faring. It will be easier to get to it if you take off the upper and lower faring, It will be on the wires coming from the fuse block.
when you service the plug put dialectical grease on it, if you have any burnt or corroded pins you will have to clean them or if they are real bad you will have to bypass the plug and splice the wire together.
after you put the plug back together put a wire tie around it so it stays together tightly.
If there is no problem with that plug check the wires from the ignition.
If you move them around when the bike is running you should see if there is a problem.
If the wire tie is on the front left side of the frame cut it off it tends to make the wires brake from bending.

Re: Intermittent Electrical Problem...
Thanks guys!!!! With your help I was able to find the right connector (plug) and fix the problem. All lights and gauges are back and life is good :-) I didn't even have to replace the plug it was just loose...a little cleaning, some sealant and a zip tie around the plug and it's good as new. Thanks again for the help!!!
