i'm new here and to the 2003 kawasaki voyager 1200. i need help, what is the best way to change the Speedometer cable. do i need to remove the upper faring or is the a better way that is not so much time and trouble .... will be waiting

Cable is an easy job. Remove trim around headlight, then unscrew the 4 bolts holding headlight and set it aside. You can see where cable screws into dash assembly from there. Sometimes you may need some needle nose pliers to break cable loose, but I have always been able to unscrew by hand. I just replaced mine before Asheville Rally, less than 10 minutes total time.

Don't overthink this. here is a pic of how far to disassemble.
Just enough to get ur pliers inside to loosen the top cable fastener.....
