Diverting radiator heat to legs
I installed a set of mini boards to my bike. When my legs are on them, I can feel some pretty intense heat (duh) from the deflector openings. I had a brainstorm thinking maybe some of that could be diverted aft and up in the winter for heating your lower extremities. It would require cutting a hole in the aft face of the lower cover and installing an eyeball type vent that could be rotated, directed, and closed off in the summer. Just wondering if anyone out there has done this?

Re: Diverting radiator heat to legs
An old trick that proved to be very successful was to block the side gills of the fairing lowers, then remove the lower vent tubs from the fairing. Then you can regulate the engine heat through the lower vent louvers. This was usually only done in parts of the country where winter weather is light on snow, but cold for riding. A good temp modification for winter riding.EZdriver wrote:I installed a set of mini boards to my bike. When my legs are on them, I can feel some pretty intense heat (duh) from the deflector openings. Also, block the lower vent on the front.Bill O wrote:An old trick that proved to be very successful was to block the side gills of the fairing lowers, then remove the lower vent tubs from the fairing.
