Need seat help...
I am 6'3'', and am trying to make myself as comfortable as possible on my 01 ZG1200.I currently have the back passenger seat removed to allow me to scoot back once in awhile to avoid leg fatigue. Is the seat for an older ZN1300 going to work to any extent on my bike? I have seen some one piece seats that don't look too bad that I wouldn't mind trying. Some fabbing work wouldn't be big deal. Anyone ever go through this that can shed a little light?

Re: Need seat help...
The ZN 1300 seat is entirely different so it won't work. I went through all kinds of seat changes and settled on a Russell Day Long, custom made for the rider and/or passenger. Pricey but well worth it. Maybe they could help out with the leg room issue when setting up the new seat?

Thanks for the quick response! I'm wondering if anyone has fabbed a rear seat cushion for comfort. Something that looks decent other than a board with foam? I'm a solo rider, so the back seat is a hindrance to me as far as comfort.

In my area there is a shop which rebuilds seats based on a person's height, weight, shape, or particular preferences Quite possibly there is one like it near you in WI.

I vote for the Russell day long as well, best thing I ever put on my bike. I assume you also have driver pegs or boards as well mounted on your front engine guards? If not, there is also a definite thing to do for comfort. By the way, the Russell day long passenger saddle can be built in two different ways- one is just cover the stock passenger saddle, the other is make it way more dished out for comfort. If you don't have the driver pegs or boards, I would try those first before deciding on a seat configuration.dewders wrote:Thanks for the quick response!
