2003 Voyager 1200 Windscreen

I own a 2003 Kawasaki Voyager 1200 and I really_really need a new windshield. The one on my ride is SCRATCHED & not clear. Where do I need to go to find a replacement. Thank you for any help.

Most guys here use a "Cee Bailey" or "Clearview" type them into your google search ,and read about them.,till you decide. ........tony

I picked up a new Cee Bailey this spring. I opted for the shorter than stock version, which I like.

I also decided to get the optional air inlet, as I heard only good comments about that feature. For what it cost to get that particular option, I won't do it again. I would actually pay a little extra to not have it. I know I'm in the minority on this, but I've yet to tell the difference between the flap being fully open or closed. It does, however, let a lot of water in. It also makes cleaning the top of the dash harder, and I have small hands.

Cut a rectangular shaped hole out in the middle of your existing windshield, and see if you notice anything besides it being the one place on your shield that is easy to see through.

I'll edit this to add I have nothing bad to say about Cee Bailey. It was very simple, and I got exactly what I asked and paid for. I didn't shop around, so I can't speak for any other brand.

Seeing as we are on the topic of windshields. Whats the difference between the Cee Bailey and a Slipstreamer windshield? I have a badly scratched Slipstreamer and I need to replace it. The Slipstreamer is less expensive.

"badly scratched" might be a clue. Otherwise I'm not sure of the difference but Cee Bailey primarily makes acrylic windows for airplanes and their motorcycle windshields are made from the same aircraft grade acrylic. (fwiw)

I have looked at both Cee Bailey and Clearview. Cee Bailey costs $110.00 and Clearview costs 194.00.

Why the big difference. Is the Clearview a better quality?

Thoughts please.

I bought a Cee Bailey and I'm very happy with it. I selected the extra height as a personal preference. As to which is better, I hope you like fishing, 'cos I think you've just opened a big can of worms.

The biggest difference in windshields that pertain to cost, is what they are made of, plastic polycarbonate, acrylic, ect. The most expensive would be the ones you can hit with a sledge hammer an they do not break. There is a good video on such a demonstration on U-tube. If I or someone can find it & post, it would be good info.. only the best to me, imho, would be the unbreakable ones and I think that is the polycarbonate ones. Also the shaping of the shield plays a important part in deciding which one you want to use.

Ya, when the sun shines through it in the morning its very hard to see the road in front (Im tall so I can peer over it but still) The scratches are fine like the previous owner used an abrasive cloth on it.

Though I've been very careful to use only soft microfiber cloths and Plexus, Pledge, or plain soap and water to clean my Cee Baily, it also has micro scratches that are visible when the sun is at certain angles. I would not classify the windshield as badly scratched in any sense, and these scratches do not interfere with visibility, it's just annoying that they exist!

Not to change subject, but if fine scratches are really the only problem. Then go buy a Novus Plastic Polish kit and a 6 pack. Should done with both the windshield and beverages about the same time!

It comes with 3 grades of polish. Will remove scratches with a little elbow grease, when done should be as good as new.

Tried the beer and the polish, still the screen is a POS !

Any advice on clear vs light gray tint ?

Happy Cee Bailey owner here. 4" tall & wide with a vent. No wind buffeting on my helmet at all. Great product

Happy Cee Baileys here as well 4" taller and wider as well. Wind is much better for passenger also. Did not get the vent and very satisfied with windshield.

.......I also chose the "cee bailey" /w/vent..... in 2012......got over 8k miles on it now and am pleased with it !.......I do remember them warning against cleaning it with just about EVERYTHING ...accept ,the cleaning product that they sell
I did not buy there cleaning product, and have been cleaning the windshield with the same old thing I been using for decades.
Someone mentioned a J.C whitney windshield.... I bought one for my old wing along time ago..... and never had any issues with it ,and also of good quality , and at a very low price as mentioned . my 2 cents.................tony
