gas tank

gas tank

ok here we go, siting on the bike i know the tank on the left is the gas tank, but what is the tank on the right side :Cball maybe a dump question.

??? The gas tank is under the seat and is the full width of the bike.

I'm not sure I understand. The gas tank is under the seat, to me it's centered not left or right.

I don't think there are dumb questions. Please feel free to ask away. That's one way we learn. There is a false tank with the tank fill cap toward the rear. Then the top of the tank and the battery and other items are under it. Perhaps that's what you seen removed. I'm pretty sure they put the tank under the seat because the 1300's had a traditional tank and it was top heavy.

Go to E-bay, type in voyager 12 gas tank, there are several for sale, you will be able to see a picture, and the shape of the tank, it will be a lot clearer then.

so is there 1 big tank that goes from one side to the other side under the seat or is one of them a dummy tank? :thk:

The Voyager XII tank in the pictures is one tank with two sides to straddle the bike's lower frame. The top tank you see referred in the pictures is an imitation tank cover hiding electrics and engine air filter and battery. The access door you see on the dummy tank is a gas filler cap from the under seat tank. Got it?
