Hello & Introduction

Post by Seawolf »

Hi my name is John Dyck, I hail from the far north (Stony Plain, Alberta). I ride a 2013 Pearl white 1700 Voyager. Bought last August and now have 20,000 kms. on it. Love the bike except for the belt noise. Rode my 1600 Nomad for 6 years and put 80,000 ams. on it before the trade-in.

Regards,
John

Welcome John! You found the right place though having only had shaft drive bikes I can't comment on the belt!

Hello John and welcome from Carbon, AB, just west of Drumheller. Our riding time is a little shorter than most, especially the southern folks, but we have some of the best riding.
I'm hoping to find a white also.
My Sister is in Edmonton and I get up there once in awhile, maybe have a coffee?

Thanks John, that's quite a gmail name you have, must stand for something? :hmm:

Anyway, get up that way couple times a year, but seeing as how we just moved to Carbon could be later this year. Do you ever get to Drumheller and the Dinosaur
Museum? Very interesting place.

Ride safe

Did you check your wheel alignment and the belt tension? They are sometimes set too tight. Loosen it to the loose end of the tolerance and give it a try.

Hi John!
I have a 2009 and the belt had a whine that was
noticeable at low speeds. Now some of my friends
got a 2013 and 2014 with the same whine. The problems
is that they set the belt to tight at the factory. All
you need to do is loosen it a little. Or wait till the belts
streaches after a few thousand miles or when you have the
tire changed.

Im Jim, from Mesa AZ, im 54. I just picked up my first Voyager, a used 2009 1700 with 7500 miles on it. It is a beautiful bike, sterring seems heavy and stiff though. I would like to pick up a OEM shop manual and parts book for it
