Beavers Break away lift system
Here's a video of me putting my Ginger on the stand, then I just remove the ramp and sides and the wheel is up in the air 10" and then the stand's height it = the height of one of the HF lifts.. I used the heck out of it,, Just drop that wheel out of there man.. don't go and try this, if you do, it's your own darn fault if you drop your bike..You won't.. I can't wait to place the Wanderer up on the stand [My new to me 99 voyager].... I have lots of really neat videos of stuff...

Martin, that's pretty darned creative and if it breaks away (looks like it does) then you can really get in nearly under it without any issues.
Hats off to you for making your own!

Re: Beavers Break away lift system
Yep, works as planned.. Love it,, Cheap because I had the material already, some would be afraid to roll up something like this but I fear nothing... Totally worth it to me, I used that lift before and I found this so much more fun...4" from the joint where it breaks away is where the stand goes, I have door latches to keep everything together.....New 99 should go right on up just like the Honda... See I made the side platforms to have a nice landing so when I get off the bike I feel safe..

....Looks great .....The older we get ,the less we like working on hands and knees, or squatting next to a bike.......and you tend to do a better job of whatever ur working on if you are more comfy while doing it!........tony

Re: Beavers Break away lift system
Yep, I roll around alot on my stool,, sometimes when I have to lay down on the floor I just lay there because the concrete is cool and I'm to lazy to get back up lol.....It's just like going up a curve or driveway.. But like I said, if someone does this and is kinda goofy and drops their bike or something foolish like that don't be yelling,,, I didn't tell you to do it... After I made this up, several guys liked it enough to make them one and they really like it.. 18" wide, 6' on the main stage, 2' sides by 18" and the back goes 10" back then slopes 24" I think it was.. make it sturdy if you do...2x10 tall 3/4" plywood

Re: Beavers Break away lift system
I got my stage out for the Kawa. It's actually a frame made of 2x8"
, just a hair short to get the wheel out with the bag frame attached, However...... I just let the air out and it came right out.. 2x10"s would be perfect.. I'll set the bead and put in the dyna bead then deflate it to get it back in...I gotta make another one out of 2x10's for this bike.. tomorrow I will have a look at the final gear drive and the swingarm and probably put it all together and go for a ride... See what these E3's do...

Re: Beavers Break away lift system
It was just as easy as the Honda to put on the centerstand, 2x10 frame is diffinently in cards for me.....Or I can just use this one and if I need to remove the wheel to change it, I can just deflate it,, I'm going to deflate it anyway.... If you haven't noticed by now, I like photo's...Video's are cool too.. But photo's explain things well.. We men are visual creatures...

Re: Beavers Break away lift system
....Lil'beav has a cool "homemade" work platform for his bike ! It dosen't take long to build one of these, and the comfort benefits are well worth it.
I made one similar to it back in 79' and by the time I replaced it..... it was a well worn unit, with oil stains, gouges, beat marks, burns etc..... it got alot of use!
If I may make a suggestion..... instead of kinda starting over, with 2x10's, what I did years ago was, go to a place like home depot, and buy some landscape timbers(they are very inexpensive...like 3 bucks) and build a quick frame, and put what you already have (elevate), up on them. Secure them to what you already have with brackets and screws ,and your all done. ,gain 4'' with little effort or cost. very solid !..........tony

Re: Beavers Break away lift system
...Ha ,HA , Loren, .....guilty as charged.... back in 94' I started acquiring forklifts,I think I had 9 at one time, but now down to 4..... so once again.....
I think I'm being good ! Oh .... and they are great for quickly ,and easily raising, bikes, and boats ,and campers, and snowmobiles, and......... a lifetime of hard work, has left me with bad back and knees, but I don't let it slow me down, I just raise it up......................tony
