Bodywork Trade?
Might offend some with this newbie question (sorry), but coming from a BMW background, it's not uncommon: I have a beautiful blue '94 Voyager Xii--got it in a trade, and am really learning to love it. Problem is I HATE blue (same way some of you hate red, or brown, or even black)...And it's way too nice to repaint. I'm sure the logistics are more complicated than on most other bikes, but has anyone ever heard of a bodywork swap being done on Voyagers?

Interesting idea! I too have a "blue" XII and even though I get lots of compliments on the color, I don't like it. Repainting is too expensive so I live with it 'cuz it's a wonderful bike!

Have run into a couple of xii's with plastic from a different year. Would actually be very simple to do. Every year has the same attachment point!

Re: Bodywork Trade?
I'm the body and paint guy in my family. Painted 7 or 8 cars and a motorcycle.
When it comes to repainting my 2001 XII, I'll probably go Dupont acryllic enamel all black, although I've got Nissan late 1990's metallic maroon that is slightly lighter than OEM I could go with. Don't need to have it look OEM.

Re: Bodywork Trade?
I got lucky and have my favorite color on my favorite bike (2001 ruby red). Saw a custom midnight version and chrome with polished cases recently that was real sharp and another painted rally red (a Pontiac orange). I have painted a few bikes and though it was plenty of work, I was glad I did it.
