Coolant drain screw in water pump cover.
Which of the 4 mounting screws in the water pump cover can be used to drain the coolant. I beleive it is the 3 oclock position, but wanted someones confirmation. Thanks.

I hope this is what you are looking for, its found on page 3-6 of the service manual.
Sorry I've tried several times but cant get an image to produce from my Tinypic's album. The bleeder screw looks like top but not top dead-center, there is actually a top mounting bolt and the bleeder is just below it.

Scott, thanks for your response. I assume the description, bleeder screw implies there is another point where you drain the coolant when you want to replace the coolant. Nothing looks obvious to me, as I would expect drain plug somewhere at the lowest point of the cooling system.Scott-(Altoona, PA) wrote:I hope this is what you are looking for, its found on page 3-6 of the service manual.

Re: Coolant drain screw in water pump cover.
If you are lucky enough to be able to lay down and see under the front end of your bike you will find the drain plug(screw) on the radiator cross pipe. It faces straight down towards the ground and is basically the bottom most point of the coolant system. I believe it's a 10mm bolt, not very long and screws directly into the pipe.
I got the pic to work this time.
Here is a pic of the bleeder bolt. After you are done crack this open and bleed any trapped air, otherwise you will not have proper fluid circulation.
Here is the drain bolt I think you are looking for.

Amazing support, really appreciate it. Took the plastic parts off, and low and behold, Kawasaki did not let me down. I was surprised how good the coolant looked, but will replace anyways. Now to find the recommended coolant. Thanks again.Scott-(Altoona, PA) wrote:If you are lucky enough to be able to lay down and see under the front end of your bike you will find the drain plug(screw) on the radiator cross pipe. Cliff you are welcome to stick around, pick our brains and also provide others support/advice any time you see fit. This is one of the greatest groups of folks associated with bikes you will ever come across. We have at least 3 members from B.C. Canada alone not to mention a dozen others who are AVA members and that doesn't count the folks on the message forum who aren't AVA members (just forum members). Chances are you'll run into one of us somewhere along the way.
Glad we could help, happy rides and many smiles. Be safe!
