I'm running a long term average of just over 41 mpg. That's for about 25,000 miles and over mixed roads: highway, interstate, some town riding, and all kinds of weather.

The gas mileage of the 1700 is very sensitive to speed and throttle use. If you like to open that throttle, it's going to suck the gas like most big bore bikes! Board Member Don Medina generally gets in the mid to upper 40's on our cross country trips riding 65 mph (as indicated on his speedometer.) I don't remember if he has ever hit 50 mpg but he might have.

Ok. Thanks. And next questions is what course is your voyager. I mean max course of users. 50,60,70.000 mil? How rugged is an engine in Voyager 1700. :)

And what is the interval to change drive belt? With or without gear weels?

I have a 2009 that I bought as a left over in the summer of 2010 I have 56 thousand on mine. I have been know to go from my house just outside of Boston to New York (226 miles each way) for a hot dog just cause I wanted one. I've had no issues with mine other than normal stuff ie brakes and tires. This winter I'm going to have the front end rebuilt. You see,I try to hit all the potholes I can or at least thats the way it seams. Actually the front feels a little funny and I know I need front springs so I figured while he was in there he may as well go through it

Thanks Ron, you're correct most of the time it's 48 to 49. But there were more then a few times this year where I broke into the 50's. But remember I ride at 65 mph, by the speedo on the bike.

I now have 82,000 plus on the odo. I did replace the belt at 31,000 when I broke it. There was a stone that went through the belt and left a hole dead center of the belt. My 1700 is a 2012 so the belt is narrow. I was able to by a used belt from Hank a NorCal Voyagers Club member. His 1700 was a 2009 so belt was old style or wider.

This year I installed Race Tech front fork springs. I also installed new Stainless Steel brake lines. Which NorCal Voyagers Club have in stock. We also have brake pads in stock for both the 1200 and 1700.

I use Amsoil 10-40 with an Amsoil oil filter. I change oil at about 10k or when the shifting starts getting hard.

Using Dunlop American Elite 180 size tire I'm getting 22k plus on the rear tire. For the front tire I'm using a E-3 the last one got 25k and this one is at 20k plus.

Zeglarz28 and Seadog

How about sending me some pictures of you and your Voyager 1700's. I'd like to include them in the next issue of the Voyagers Voice. It's the magazine the AVA produces, this coming issue will be the first to be all digital. Because of this we've been able to bring the membership price down to $20 per year no matter where on earth you live. My email is bluemedina@sbcglobal.net

So Don, are you still using that belt I sold you? that may account for the outrageous mileage you get. With the new rubber band I have on the trike, I can't get more than 35 MPG or so, however, my tank capacity has been increased by an extra gallon as you saw on our last ride :gig: :gig: :gig:

Yes, the new or used belt I got from you now has almost 50,000 miles on it. It doesn't show any wear on the teeth of the belt.

As of now my Voyager 1700 is at Tracy Motorsports for warranty work! I got and error 18 message displayed. I'll write an article about the problem and published it in both the AVA Voyagers Voice and NorCal Voyagers newsletter.

That error code 18? That means not enough riding! actually. it means "accelerator position sensor malfunction, wiring open or short" see page 3-38 in the manual I gave you for a list of all error messages.

Just about to hit 50,000 miles on my Voyager. I would be over 100,000 if I didn't have the Concours (~30,000) and Versys (~25,000) to split my touring miles.

Are you using a fuel controller on it with the BAK?
